Orange CYMS Cricket Club's Luke Hunter is the only Orange-based player selected to compete for Western Zone at the McDonald's Country Colts carnival in Queanbeyan, beginning on December 12.

Hunter and his teammates will play five games over four days: with 50-over matches scheduled for Monday, Wednesday and Thursday and two T20 games slated to take place on the Tuesday.

The selection comes in the wake of Hunter's debut for CYMS's First Grade side in the BOIDC competition in his first season with the club after playing for Kinross previously.

"The boys at CYMS have been really good and have welcomed me to the club," he said.

"Training and playing against high quality bowling and seeing high quality batting has definitely helped me with my own game."
