Orange CYMS Cricket Club is celebrating one of the most successful seasons in its proud history, capped by securing the ODCA Club Championship for the fourth consecutive year and delivering premierships across multiple competitions.

President Ben McNiven said the club’s achievements in 2025–26 reflected “the strength of our programs from the youngest Blasters right through to First Grade".

The club claimed three premierships:

  • ODJCA Under-11s (won by Orange CYMS Red)

  • ODJCA Under-16s

  • ODCA Fourth Grade (won by Orange CYMS Gold)

McNiven said these titles were “a reward for the commitment of our volunteers, coaches and players,” noting that the junior premierships in particular “highlight the depth of talent coming through our pathways".

Orange CYMS teams also reached grand finals in the ODJCA Under-12s, ODCA Women’s T20, Fourth Grade, Third Grade and Second Grade and BOIDC First Grade.

Across the season, the club secured minor premierships in ODJCA Under-11s, Under-12s and Under-16s, as well as ODCA Second Grade, Third Grade and Fourth Grade.

The sum of the senior teams' success across the course of the regular season was the ODCA Club Championship, in addition to the unique feat of having seven teams qualify for finals across the four ODCA senior grades.

“Having so many teams in finals cricket shows the consistency of performance across the club. It wasn’t just one standout team — it was the entire club performing at a high level," McNiven said.

The club’s growth continued with exceptional participation numbers:

  • 145 children in the Junior Blasters and Master Blasters programs across Orange and Molong

  • 12 junior teams with 115 players, the largest junior cricket program in Orange

  • Eight senior teams and more than 100 registered senior players

  • Six teams and over 50 players in the Orange Social Women’s Cricket League, plus a team which made the grand final of the ODCA Women’s T20 competition

McNiven said the club’s expanding women’s cricket program was “one of the most exciting parts of our growth,” adding that “women and girls are now a huge part of the CYMS cricket family, and that’s only going to keep building".

Two standout performers were recognised with the club’s highest honours:

  • Angus Hattersley – Jack Moroney Junior Cricketer of the Year

  • Harry Dyer – Jack Moroney Cricketer of the Year

“These awards reflect not just talent, but attitude, leadership and commitment,” McNiven said.

“Angus and Harry represent everything we value at CYMS and the entire club is proud of their achievements and attitudes.

McNiven said the club now turns its attention to building on this momentum.

“We’re proud of what we achieved — but we’re even more excited about what comes next.”
